We’re a relatively new art space located in the ‘casco antiguo’ of Palma, on the island of Mallorca, Spain. Please allow us to introduce ourselves.

We’re a bit different than most galleries: small, flexible, fun, and most importantly, we’re not your competition nor do we pretend to be art advisors. At ZONA, we primarily showcase works by American born artist, Ian Ratowsky, whose imaginative style and bold use of color is in very sharp contrast to Mallorca’s naturally calming shades of sand and terracotta.

Ian Ratowsky, a current resident of Mallorca, Spain, is best known for his large scale, raw and non-formulary approach to female portraiture, contemporary horses and abstract creatures of his imagination. Drawing inspiration from ones deeply embedded archetypical symbolism, Ian effortlessly captures a mood, a stare or a moment that appears to be frozen and gives it life. The parted lips of a lover about to tell a secret, the hoofs of a horse about to take flight and the all-knowing eyes, present in all his works, bring a dynamic to the canvas that imparts a sense of realism within the ethereal context of his style.

Giclées or Fine Art Prints are high-resolution, large-format images printed on either canvas or museum quality watercolor paper with inkjet printers which use lightfast dye or pigment-based inks. Using a 12-color print

making process rather than the 4 typically used in day-to-day color copies, the resulting piece remains true to the original artwork.

In fact, a giclée or fine art print is of such high quality that it is difficult to distinguish

it from the original artwork.

All giclées are available in Editions of 10 for each size - signed and numbered by the artist - unframed - framing may be arranged...
